"We were in the [Murder in] Balder's Gate campaign, fighting a powerful noble on the top of his palatial mansion. He started to fly around, out of reach of most of the party (we were heavy on melee). Our dwarf druid had a brilliant idea. He attached fire seeds to a bag of smoke powder we had acquired earlier. He threw the make shift bomb at the flying wizard. And rolled a 3. Luckily, I was next in the initiative and situated directly across the battle map from the druid. I pulled out my best javelin, took a stance, and swung the javelin like a bat to hit the 'bomb' back at the wizard. I rolled a nat20! The bomb went up his robes, the druid triggered the fire seeds, and the wizard noble exploded in a blinding flash. Everybody at the table cheered! We definitely won that day!"
How exciting! Thanks Amanda for sharing. I can see why this is a favorite moment. Creative thinking, Cinematic Roleplay, and sending the bad guy out with a BANG! .
