Battle MapsWhile it is completely fine to go without a map, having one is an iconic way to involve your players, and to allow tactics to join in the game!
Drawing a map, Utilizing Tiles, or re-purpose a Flipmat; all bring unique strengths to storytelling. My favorite way to do this is to mix them up! Using Tiles and Drawing map together, or putting tiles over squares that don't match for my Flip Mat. |
