Zephyrus Aabram is a Tiefling Captain from Windbreak who sails the Brightwater Sea. As Captain, he is often found walking the deck of the ship, shouting orders, jumping in to help, and fawning over the wooden varnish of the helm.
Zephyrus takes a lot of work from a varied set of sources. As a registered Captain, he has vows to stand against piracy, to stand with Windbreak in times of war, and to pay taxes to Windbreak. He enjoys working to make other people’s dreams come true. He sails as far North as Koriolan, and as far East as Kryte. He used to trade in Zalen Tor, but that has been dangerous with the increase in pirate efforts close to their shores.
His shipmates are his family. He knows them better than most Humans know their own cousins. Their strengths and weaknesses are his own, and his ship succeeds on how well they do as a family.
He understands the water better than he understands most things. As a Water Tiefling, he feels the push and pull of Water as the Sea Worthy travels its surface.
“Say. You there. I heard that there is some fresh apple pie in town today. I get all rubber legged out there on the rocks. Would ya mind pickin me up a few?”
“Ever been to Kryte? Steam powered wonder of the world it is. Travel all of Ryfel, never see something like it. Well, they are looking for new schematics on clockwork soldiers. If ya hear anything, make sure ya bring it to Old Zephy first, and I’ll make it worth your while.”
“One of the most reliable vessels on the Brightwater Sea she is. He’s about as trustworthy as you can get. At least in my books.” ~Paticia Solacehammer
“He got that ship, but he never got his revenge. See it was a pirate that killed his old man. A gal named Viridia. Some say she got locked up in a foreign prison.” ~Dale Derekson
Relationships to other NPCs
Zephyrus treats everyone with respect. His direct commander is Paticia Solacehammer, Captain of the Navy, whom he gives his utmost attention. He will even willingly go aground at her behest.
His best friend is Barnabus, his First Mate. Zephyrus knows he can keep his tail held high as he dodges up and down the rigging, knowing that Barnabus will take care of the paperwork and inventory.
When you need an NPC you don't have time to make one up on the Fly. A good storyteller has between 6 and 7 NPCs on standby that can breathe life into your campaign. Don't worry, Here is a weekly update for you to use!
