Reeta Dioc, Paladin of Wood

Picture
Reeta is an Elven Paladin in The Umberwood. Fierce in combat, relentless in the chase, she is the stalwart defender in the face of Darkness, her solemn duty.
Reeta is a Paladin of Wood, the most generous of the Primordials. She ensures the safety of the forest, and of Applewood. She works in the furthest reaches of the forest maintaining balance, and enacting the vengeance of the forest. She has the power to pull back the forest, or to push its strength onto those that would do it harm.

As a paladin of a Primordial God, she often wields powerful destructive and restorative magics. She wields a quarterstaff, and is often mistaken for a Druid. She knows several Barbarians, Rangers, and Druids, but she serves a different calling.

Those who do not respect Wood will find her on their footsteps.

Most folk cannot find Reeta, but Hektor Henri has a knack for finding her. She doesn’t visit the town of Applewood often, but is fond of the music that sometimes wanders into the Umberwood.

She has a soft spot for apple pie, but does not drink any form of alcohol.

Roleplaying hints
  1. She is kind, but short in her answers to questions. She is not comfortable talking, because she doesn’t do it often. She listens more than she speaks, and will stop talking if interrupted.
  2. The people of Applewood are just as important to Reeta as her forest. She wants nothing more than for both to be safe.
  3. She likes solitude, and is not trusting of visitors. She will wait and watch to see how visitors respond to their own impatience.
Quests
“I would very much like to hear the Gnome song from Windbreak. The one about the puppets. Have you heard it?”

Rumors
“Reeta is a funny creature. I heard she really likes apple pie and ale though.” ~Tindle Swill

“Don’t get lost out there if you can help it. That Reeta lady is nice enough, but You don’t want to be found wandering in her woods with no source of light or firewood. Don’t kill nothin’ if ya don’t have to. She gets real particular.” ~Stannis

Relationships to other NPCs

Reeta has a loose collection of professional allies.

Sebastion Katar, Hektor Henri, and Antonius Cecilia all work in the woods, and she respects them, and they respect her. She protects them while they work, keeping them safe.

Poe Heartsmash gets avoided, though she knows he is kind, she’d rather not be around if he gets upset. Heino Tork and Reeta compete for territory. Reeta thinks that Heino should move to a new area, and won’t deal with her if she can help it.
